good morning Bill

the away games in Florida have not always been historically kind to Philly

hopefully they can focus and bring their A game for the Panthers and then Tampa

would be nice to have a bit of breathing room to give a few of the players nursing injuries a break before the playoffs start

They need 3 wins to salt 3rd in the Metro.....anything less and its probably Boston in Round one...now hopefully they can get it going and be playing their best come the end of next week.....
It's all about their best players being their best players, Their defensive game has really come around post Olympics....I think they have the horses to beat anyone outside Boston in round one. But it's imperitive that it starts now ...one win and their in...but they need to start thinking about the "opportunity" they have to help themselves in the next 5-6 days.

Hi Bill
Some reports saying McGinn replacing Rosehill in the lineup tonight. Have you heard anything?

So a flyer fan was asking us what we Oil fans would think about Laughton and Coburn for our 1st (allowing you Ekblad) and a d prospect like Musil.

Thoughts?

Would be a pass for me....Flyers have decent prospects in Morin, Ghost and Hagg. This team will need Laughton next year for depth and salary cap purposes.

wow, Gillis fired. Wonder if that means Fonzi Ponzi survives the mess or they wait to see what the next GM wants to do.

I'd clean house and fire the Fonze too.. The way Gillis botched the whole Luongo and Schneider thing just completely blows my mind. Maybe the new GM makes a play for Miller but come on...

I've read that Ekblad might be the only kid drafted this year capable of stepping into an NHL lineup.

I'm not automatically opposed to this deal, fwiw. Really, what you do with Laughton has something to do with what you think Brayden Schenn and Sean Couterier's future looks like.

If Carolina beats the Rangers tonight, and we win, we'd be in second in the Metro I thought. The Rangers haven't been tearing it up, and I still think we can get that #2 in the Metro and get Home ice.. huge for the playoffs IMO

I would do it, but this team is considerably worse if you have to replace Coburn. Not sure they Ekblad can replace him right away. (Obviously why the Oilers would be ok with this).

If they lose in regulation, but yeah. First tie breaker is games in hand until the season is over.

Trading Coburn creates a big hole for next season. One of the few guys who are plus skaters that they have.

Unless they are signing 2 new defenseman from free agency I can't see them doing it

Not to mention that he denies or forces dump-ins in almost 40% of all attempted entries into the Flyers zone on his side of the ice:

Even better than Kimmo in that regard.
